Ride Greeley Evans Transit and Poudre Express buses for free in August

By Kelly Ragan

You can ride Greeley Evans Transit and Poudre Express buses for free in August.

Thanks to Senate Bill 22-180 and a partnership with the Colorado Energy Office, public transit hubs in Greeley are joining Zero Fare for Better Air, a statewide initiative designed to reduce ground-level ozone.

According to a news release, about 84% of the greenhouse gas emissions that come from transportation are due to day-to-day commutes.

By opting to use public transit, a person can save up to 20 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions every day, according to the release (not to mention money at the gas pump these days).
